Kreayshawn reveals she only generated $0.01 off her “Somethin’ Bout Kreay” album

One of the first few artists to score a hit simply off the internet was Kreayshawn with her “Gucci Gucci” track. Her momentum soon led to Kreayshawn in the studio with heavyweights like 2 Chainz and Gucci Mane. As her buzz picked up, Kreayshawn was offered a deal with Columbia Records.

Immediately, Kreayshawn began working on her debut album, Somethin’ Bout Kreay, which was released in 2012. By the next calendar year of her internet stardom, Kreayshawn was an artist with an album out. Unfortunately, the White Girl Mob would not survive her solo success.

However, once Kreayshawn dropped Somethin’ Bout Kreay, she ended up having the worst first week sales ever. It turned out Kreayshawn only moved 6,000 copies during her first week, which obviously isn’t a lot of money, especially after it’s split several ways. Kreayshawn showed her PayPal stub on Twitter from her record label.
