Kurupt denies “New York New York” being a diss track, but instead a tribute to New York
In the wake of New York hip hop being attacked, a lot of people have had much to say about what’s going on. With Trinidad James’ recent comments, there are people who are disgusted because of what’s going on. Since there is much of New York disrespect going on, a lot of people thought of Tha Dogg Pound’s “New York New York.”
Astro recently dropped another track that defends New York and he used the screenshot of Snoop Dogg stepping on the NY towers for his artwork. It was the original video that led to the East Coast/West Coast beef becoming what it did. Most people felt hip hop would never get back to this level.
Kurupt talked to XXL recently and he addressed the situation and he had comments that were shocking. “New York New York” is not a diss track, according to Kurupt, but it was initially a tribute to New York hip hop. But, Kurupt says when the video was shot, things got complicated.
