L.A. Reid says Future’s #DS2 is a better album than Dr. Dre’s #Compton

L.A. Reid 3If anyone in music has earned the right to be outspoken, it is L.A. Reid, one of the most successful executives in history. Behind many of the biggest names in music, L.A. Reid oversaw Jay Z’s presidency of Def Jam in the mid-2000s. Now, he is the boss at Epic Records.

This year, Future has risen to become the most vital rap artist under the umbrella of Epic Records. In July, Future released DS2, his chart-topping third album. The album is hailed as a Southern classic, being met with strong reviews.

Another major release, this summer, was Dr. Dre’s Compton album, his long-awaited release. Those who heard Dr. Dre’s new release have admitted that it was very underwhelming. During his interview on Rap Radar’s podcast, L.A. Reid took it a step further, saying Future’s DS2 is a better album than Dr. Dre’s Compton.
