This afternoon, the Los Angeles Lakers made an announcement that dominated the internet. After years of representing the Lakers, they have Magic Johnson in an official capacity. Starting off as a player, later he would coach the team, before returning, and then as an adviser.
Magic Johnson has spent recent years as a commentator, for both national games and Laker games. However, Magic Johnson has taken on a big role for the Lakers, as of today. He has taken a role as the franchise’s President of Basketball Operations.
When the news broke, on ESPN, Magic Johnson immediately became the trending topic on Twitter. The fans are celebrating the new energy in the Lakers’ front office. With that being the new situation, Mitch Kupchak is no longer involved, so now both the fans of the Lakers, and hip hop are celebrating Magic Johnson’s comeup.
