Carmelo Anthony has been one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA, as he’s finishing the last few years of career with the Trailblazers in Portland. He’s also known for his decade-long marriage to Lala Anthony.
A few years back, Melo reportedly cheated on Lala, in 2019, and that started to cause a huge bump in their marriage. They originally split in 2017, but began to get back together in 2018. Their marriage was then “strained” after the cheating situation in 2019, but spent more time together again in 2020.
Now, Lala and Melo’s marriage is officially ending, as Lala filed for divorce on Thursday, in New York City, according to TMZ. This reportedly happened due to “irreconcilable differences.” Lala and Melo still plan to remain as friends. They were marriages for 11 years, and together for 16.
The two also gave one child together, a 14-year-old son, named Kiyan. In this divorce, Lala and Melo also wanted to ensure a “smooth and private” transition for him.
