LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier will miss several games
The Charlotte Hornets have become a powerhouse. Traditionally, the Hornets are not a very good team. This year, they have turned a corner. Early in the season, they have wins over the Warriors and Nets, the best teams in each conference.
Take away some tough in-game stretches, and the Hornets also have wins over the Celtics, Clippers, Lakers, and Bucks. If they had those wins, the Hornets would actually be the number one team in the East. Instead, they are looking at being without two of their best players.
LaMelo Ball has become the franchise player, which was expected when they drafted him. Meanwhile, Terry Rozier was brought in, in 2019, to replace Kemba Walker. After a tough start, Terry came into his own. Last season, he was the Hornets’ leading scorer. The team meshed well, in 2021, and became the fourth seed. However, injuries tore the whole team apart.
The Hornets made the 2021 postseason, playing the Pacers in the play-in tournament. Demolished 144-117, the Hornets missed the playoffs. Immediately, they got redemption this season, staging a comeback win against them on opening night. This season, the Hornets have become the most-fun team to watch, by most fans. Win or lose, LaMelo Ball is throwing a wild pass and Miles Bridges will throw it down. In Milwaukee, he did that and dunked on Giannis.
Charlotte is currently riding a three game losing streak. Tomorrow, they play the Atlanta Hawks. The last time they played Trae Young led the Hawks to a 10 point win. In the middle of a losing streak, the pressure is on the Hornets to win. They will have to do it without LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier. Both players are out, due to COVID-19 safety protocols. The team is without two of their leading scorers, but will still have Miles Bridges. But, Ball and Rozier will miss “several games.” How many “several” is has not been specified.
