Further pushing the limitations of rap, artist of the new generation continue to pay homage to those who have paved the way. Latto, a rising superstar of female rap is giving fans an inside look at her journey while speaking to a rap legend. In the newest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, Latto and Snoop Dogg make an appearance on the cover. Showing the importance of generations embracing one another, this latest edition features a special segment titled “Musicians on Musicians.” This segment allows fellow artist to interview one another, as Latto and Snoop Dogg share their unique musical journeys. Despite Snoop Dogg’s major influence, he didn’t hesitate to let Latto know he is a fan of her sound.
Latto is absolutely one of the main faces dominating the female rap world. Although only 24, her music career actually started at the young age of 14. However, her 2021 single “Big Energy,” put Latto on the radar of everyone in the industry. The now 3x platinum single, was followed up with her second album 777 and the viral single “Put It On The Floor.” The remix “Put It On The Floor Again,” featuring Cardi B has now reached platinum eligibility. Despite Latto’s incredible platinum streak, she’s never been shy about the difficulties that come with fortune and fame. During her interview with Snoop Dogg, Latto expressed how hard it was for her to gain respect in addition to the realities of the music industry.
