LeBron James could become first NBA player billionaire, as lifetime deal with Nike is worth more than $1 billion
Like every great player to enter the NBA, LeBron James endured countless comparisons to Michael Jordan. Because they play different positions and in different eras, these comparisons have eased off. But, in the world of business, they may match up more evenly.
LeBron James is definitely a great player, as he led two different franchises to eight straight top two seeds and five NBA Finals appearances. But, LeBron gets his job done on the business end. His true talent may be business, even over basketball.
This morning, news has broken of LeBron James potentially being involved in a billion dollar deal. Hoping to lock James in, Nike is offering a lifetime deal to him. With this deal potentially being worth over $1 billion, LeBron James could be the first billionaire active NBA player.
