LeBron James got booed when shown on jumbotron at Super Bowl
LeBron James is easily the biggest NBA superstar of this generation. In addition, he is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, as he earned this title last week. However, none of this success comes without certain levels of backlash. Much of LeBron’s goodwill, from the masses, went to the wayside, when he expressed his political leanings. This, plus being controversial due to his skills, has made LeBron James a controversial figure. Last night, he took the night off to watch the Super Bowl. When he was shown, the crowd booed him.
LeBron James spent most of his career facing major backlash. Before he even played in the NBA, he was compared to Michael Jordan. In fact, LeBron was drafted the same year Jordan retired for the final time. As a result, the NBA looked to LeBron to fill his shoes. Not only was LeBron James unable to win a championship, he was swept in his first NBA Finals appearance. That, alone, disqualified LeBron from Jordan’s six titles in six appearances record. After that, LeBron controversially left the Cleveland Cavaliers to form a superteam with the Miami Heat.
LeBron James became a billionaire, last year. With that, he became the first active billionaire professional athlete. In addition, LeBron James became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer last week. There is a lot to celebrate, where LeBron is concerned. However, not everybody is happy for him. Last night, LeBron was in Arizona for the Super Bowl. After he was shown on the jumbotron, the fans began to boo him.
