LeBron James reached out to Kevin Durant about joining him in LA, according to Stephen A. Smith, but KD turned him down, because he wants to solely be regarded as the best player in the world #SportsCenter [VIDEO]

In 2012, LeBron James was on a redemption run, as the Miami Heat had a lot of pressure on them. They reached the NBA Finals, where they beat Kevin Durant’s Oklahoma City Thunder in five games. It was not only LeBron’s first title, but the start of a rivalry.

LeBron James goes to the NBA Finals every year, so he’s bound to make rivals, due to that, alone. Back with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he’s found a quick enemy in the Golden State Warriors. Kevin Durant signed with them and has won his first two titles against them.

Now, LeBron James is reportedly leaving Cleveland, again, with the sports world nearly guaranteeing that. It’s only now what team he’s going to next and most think it’s the Lakers. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith claims to have insider knowledge that LeBron is trying to recruit KD to the Lakers, but KD isn’t having it.
