LeBron James says he’s the greatest NBA player of all-time

LeBron James made history, tonight, despite his Lakers losing to the Thunder. As of tonight, LeBron is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar set the record in 1984, the year James was born. Like Kareem, LeBron eventually found himself playing for the Lakers, after being drafted elsewhere. In addition, LeBron set the NBA’s scoring record, like Kareem, playing for the Lakers.

LeBron James played the game by his own rules. Drafted in 2003, James arrived in the NBA the season after Michael Jordan retired for good. Despite playing a different position, LeBron was immediately compared to MJ. However, LeBron made his NBA Finals debut and got swept. At the same time, many argued LeBron carrying that Cleveland team to the Finals that early in his career was impressive.

LeBron James split his career between two stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, and now the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2020, he led the Lakers to the championship. From that moment on, the Lakers have struggled. Tonight, LeBron James came into the home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and made history. After setting the NBA scoring record, LeBron told Shaq he is the GOAT.
