On July 11, Quality Control Music rapper, Lil Marlo, was shot and killed in his hometown of Atlanta. This occurred on a highway as he was pronounced dead on the scene. He was just 27-years-old.

Lil Baby took to Twitter to discuss his close friend’s death and said that he this is what comes with being in the streets. He also shut down a rumor that Atlanta Police said that a hit of $50,000 was put out that was targeted against Lil Baby. They added that Marlo wasn’t the intended target. Baby said if people f*ck with him, then they shouldn’t post no “weak ass fake news.”

The fellow QC rapper also took to his Instagram feed to honor his late friend. He said no good comes out of this street s*it and that he’s so numb right now and hasn’t cried like this in eight years.

“Streets a stepping stool to the next level!!” said Baby “I say that to say I’m f*cced up bout Yung ru but at the same time I’m so familiar with this s*it I find myself numb!! Ain cried in like 8 yrs !! I thought I couldn’t no more … this one hit me hard.”

In 2020, Marlo released his ‘1st & 3rd‘ mixtape which featured 14 tracks with appearances from Future, Lil Baby, Gucci Mane, Blac Youngsta, Young Thug, Young Dolph, and Moneybagg Yo. This project also featured his latest hit single, “1st N 3rd” feat. Future and Lil Baby. He initially started to pick up momentum as a rising star in Atlanta in 2018.
