Lil Baby has arguably been the hottest rapper of 2020 and it all started with the release of his ‘My Turn‘ album. This project was led by the buzzing singles, “Woah” and “Sum 2 Prove.” Following its release, records such as “Emotionally Scarred” and “Heatin Up” featuring Gunna began to build momentum as well.
Baby went on to release the deluxe edition in May which contained the album’s biggest hit record, “We Paid” feat. 42 Dugg. We Paid has since been certified 2x platinum and now, My Turn as a whole has now gone 2x platinum as well, according to Chart Data. This is after selling 2 million total units. A myriad of records on this album have since additionally been certified gold and platinum
My Turn had already reached many accomplishments prior to this certification such as becoming No. 1 best-selling album of 2020 which surpassed The Weeknd’s ‘After Hours.’ It also became the longest-running No.1 album of 2020 in the United States. Baby revealed at the end of August that he plans to release another album soon as well.
