Lil’ Kim preparing new EP

Yesterday, the official version of “I’m Not the One” leaked to the internet. The song will be the first single from Lil’ Kim’s upcoming EP. In 2005, Lil’ Kim released her last studio album, The Naked Truth. Lil’ Kim was away from the spotlight for four years, as she was trying to release her next album. During this period of time, she parted ways with Atlantic Records and began independently working on her music.

In 2009, Lil’ Kim released “Download,” with T-Pain and Charlie Wilson. The song was billed as the first single from her Vintage album. When no follow-up was released, it became clear the album was not on the way. Lil’ Kim would remain out of the spotlight until 2010, when she ignited her feud with Nicki Minaj. For months, Lil’ Kim sent several unanswered shots to Nicki Minaj, before ending her vendetta.

However, as Lil’ Kim called peace, Nicki Minaj released “Roman’s Revenge.” Nicki Minaj released her Pink Friday album towards the end of 2010, and Lil’ Kim prepared her Black Friday mixtape. Following several delays, Lil’ Kim released Black Friday and claimed the mixtape sold 1 million copies online, something Nicki scoffed at. The two spent the first half of 2011 exchanging disses until rumors said the two met and ended their feud. These rumors proved to be false when Nicki Minaj released a Lil’ Kim diss.

The feud had died down until Lil’ Kim’s release of “I’m Not the One” and Lil’ Kim says the track is one of five, which are a part of her upcoming EP. Lil’ Kim said the EP is a Holiday gift for her fans and a preview of what is coming for 2012.
