Lil Nas X wins Male Artist of the Year award at iHeart Radio Music Awards

The iHeart Radio Music Awards took place in Los Angeles tonight, as osme of the biggest names in the music industry were honored. This includes Lil Nas X, who took home of the biggest awards of the night.

Nas X was honored with the Male Artist of the Year award, on Tuesday night. He edged out Justin Bieber, Drake, Ed Sheeran, and The Weeknd. Nas X definitely had a dominant 2021, as he had two songs that topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This included “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and “Industry Baby,” featuring Jack Harlow. Both reached these top positions, four months apart.

Both of those singles went on to appear on Nas X’s long-awaited debut studio album, “Montero,” in September. That project went on to debut at number two, on the Billboard 200 chart. Montero contained 15 tracks, with additional appearances from Doja Cat, Elton John, Miley Cyrus, and Megan Thee Stallion. The album has since been certified platinum in the US, as well. Nas X also had an interesting promo run for Montero, as he claimed he was “pregnant” with the album.
