Lil Nas X Expresses Excitement of Barack Obama Including “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” Single in His “Favorite Music of 2021” List, But Also Announces Having COVID-19

Lil Nas X Reveals He Contracted COVID-19

Lil Nas X has continued to be one of the biggest artists in the world, in 2021. He was recently supposed to perform at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball concerts, but pulled out, due to contracting COVID-19.

This was revealed by Nas X, in a now-deleted tweet. Jingle Ball also lost Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, and the Jonas Brothers due to COVID reasons. The good news for Nas X though, is that he made it on former President Barack Obama’s “Favorite Music of 2021” List.

Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” single, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, in March. This record went on to appear on Nas X’s September 2021 debut studio album, Montero. That went on to be the number two album in the US.

In Nas X’s deleted tweets, he expressed his excitement about making it on Obama’s list, as well as contracting COVID. He revealed that he doesn’t know which variant he has, but it hasn’t been a “fun journey.” Nas X added that he knows this isn’t a life-threatening situation, though.

Hopefully, Nas X will be able to return to the stage soon.
