Lil Nas X addresses “Montero” trolling, saying the album was therapy for him, as he worked through many issues, and is literally his baby

This year, Lil Nas X managed to make the conversation all about him. Early in the spring, he released his “Montero” single, and then had the “devil shoes.” Many believed Nas X was a devil worshipper, and then his embrace of his homosexuality made him even more controversial.

Lil Nas X released his Montero album to much attention and scrutiny. At the BET Awards, he had a much-discussed performance, where he kissed a man, during his performance. All of this has made him one of the most-discussed men in hip hop.

On Twitter, Lil Nas X joked about the trolling he’s done, during the Montero promotion. But, on a serious note, he said the album was therapy for him, as he worked through many unaddressed issues he had, saying this album is truly his baby.
