Lil Nas X has been the top trending topic of the music industry over the last four days. This is due to him twerking on Satan in the “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” music video. Today, he also sold out out of all 666 pairs of his Nike Air Max 97 “Satan Shoes.” To no surprise now, Nas X’s numbers are doing very well in regards to streams.
In the spring of 2019, Nas X first became a star with the release of his “Old Town Road” single. Soon, he enlisted country legend, Billy Ray Cyrus, on the remix. Old Town Road went on to become the most streamed song in US history as of this past January. Now, it’s set another impressive milestone.
According to Chart Data, Old Town Road is now the first song in history to earn 3 billion on-demand streams in the US. Previously, it also 14x platinum in the US as well and is the highest certified track in RIAA history.
Nas X continues to sell controversy and to no surprise, is winning big because of it. His “Holiday” single also went platinum a last week, shortly before the release of Montero. His debut album is also supposed to arrive this year.
