Lil Nas X’s 2021 debut album “Montero” hits platinum eligibility

Lil Nas X has arguably had the biggest year of his career. He scored two number one singles, as well as a top two album, in “Montero,” which was his debut studio album.
Montero was released in September, as it debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. It was led by the chart-topping “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and “Industry Baby” ft. Jack Harlow singles. Now, it has reached a new milestone.
According to Chart Data, Montero has now sold over 1 million units in the US. This now makes it eligible for platinum certification. Montero contained 15 tracks, and additional appearances from Megan Thee Stallion, Miley Cyrus, Elton John, and Doja Cat.
“Scoop” ft. Doja and “That’s What I Want” have since become other popular records on the album, as Nas X also went on to shoot visuals for these. Montero was Nas X’s first project since 2019’s “7” EP, and fans believe he exceeded expectations.
