Lil Nas X looks like he’s having the biggest year out of every artist right now. He stormed onto this scene with his single “Old Town Road” which was soon on the Billboard charts but was removed due to it not fitting the country music genre. Nas X soon followed that up with the remix featuring Billy Ray Cyrus and from there, it was on.

The Old Town Road remix soon became the top song in the country and stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 and it was heading toward breaking Mariah Carey and Luis Fonsi’s streak of having the longest-running single in Billboard Hot 100 history. He’s now done just that at 17 weeks consecutively.

Old Town Road beat Carey’s “One Sweet Day” and Fonsi’s “Despacito.” In addition to Old Town Road, X’s “Panini” record which appeared on his debut EP. “7” last month is also on the Billboard chart. Old Town Road looks like it’s definitely on its way to reaching 20 weeks. Lil Nas X has shown that he can be a very versatile artist and the proof was there on this record and his EP.
