As the frontman of Trillville, of Lil Jon’s BME label, Lil’ Scrapppy rose to fame during the fall of 2003. Throughout the year of 2004, fans got to know Lil’ Scrappy, as he released the hit single, “No Problem.” While waiting to release his solo debut, Scrappy formed an alliance with G-Unit Records.
At the time, Lil’ Scrappy was working closely with Young Buck and many assumed he would eventually sign to Buck’s G-Unit imprint. Following the release of Lil’ Scrappy’s debut album, Young Buck and 50 Cent began feuding. Separating himself from the situation, Lil’ Scrappy searched for a new deal.
In 2009, Lil’ Scrappy announced he was now a member of Ludacris’ DTP Records, a move which he felt would solidify him in the game. Lil’ Scrappy was preparing his album, The Grustle, which soon fell victim to several delays. After two years of waiting, Lil’ Scrappy has decided to leave DTP Records and has a new deal for his G$ Up movement.
Aside from preparing to independently release The Grustle, Lil’ Scrappy has a guest appearance on Tyler Perry’s sitcom, “House of Payne,” which is set to air sometime next year. In addition to guest starring on “House of Payne,” Lil’ Scrappy revealed he also has a role in Tyler Perry’s new film, which is in the works. While he says he enjoys the paychecks from acting, Lil’ Scrappy said music will always be his true passion.
