For two years, Lil Twist has discussed his debut album, Don’t Get it Twisted. Last year, Lil Twist was supposed to finally release his debut album. However, Cash Money Records decided it was best for the young rapper to debut in 2012. The New Year is shaping up to be a big year for Young Money and the overall Cash Money label, with new releases coming from nearly every artist on the label.

XXL caught up with Lil Twist to speak with him about his upcoming projects. As he prepares to release his album, Lil Twist plans to flood the mixtape circuit. Two days ago, Lil Twist and a newcomer, Khalil, released a joint mixtape called Three Weeks in Miami. Before his Don’t Get it Twisted album is released, Lil Twist plans to release three more mixtapes.

While the mixtape took longer than three weeks to record, yet in Miami, Lil Twist said they decided to stick with the title. The mixtape features all original tracks, which have been produced by a number of new producers. Lil Twist plans to introduce these producers to the mainstream through his songs. The next mixtape from Lil Twist is called Defeat Ain’t a Option.
