Lil Wayne accuses Birdman of holding up “Tha Carter V” album release, wants off Cash Money Records
Despite the success they have had from 2004 to the present date, critics have always seemed to hate the dynamic of Lil Wayne and Birdman. Over the years, stories have been fabricated to say Lil Wayne was disgruntled with Cash Money Records. However, Jay-Z did reveal he was close to signing Lil Wayne away from the label.
Lil Wayne established himself as one of the game’s top artists years ago. All of his albums sell well, but fans have become used to at least triple platinum results fromĀ Tha Carter each time it drops. With the exception of 2012, Lil Wayne has put out a new album each year since 2008, but this streak is in jeopardy.
Currently, Lil Wayne should be gearing up for Tha Carter V release, as the album was announced to be released on December 9. But, there has been little to no promotion for the new album, because it’s not coming. Lil Wayne revealed this to his followers on Twitter, placing the blame on Birdman.
