Before he was 2 Chainz, Tity Boi was one-half of Playaz Circle, which was signed to Ludacris’ label, DTP Records. Playaz Circle appeared on the DTP albums with Ludacris, but for the most part, remained in the background on the label roster. However, Ludacris gave Playaz Circle a shot in 2007.
Supply & Demand was the Playaz Circle debut and the single, “Duffle Bag Boy,” became their claim to fame. From there, the union between Tity Boi and Lil Wayne was established. Tity Boi soon began releasing solo mixtapes. In 2011, Tity Boi changed his name to 2 Chainz and watched his career skyrocket.
Fast forward one year, 2 Chainz is just as big of a star as Lil Wayne is. Lil Wayne is preparing to launch his I Am Not a Human Being 2 album. In need of another single to get the buzz back up, it was a no-brainer for Lil Wayne to turn to 2 Chainz. Last week, the “Rich as Fuck” single was announced and now the music video is in the works, with images leaking to the internet.
