Lil Wayne and Fat Joe to coach Dwight Howard’s basketball game

Nearly a decade ago, Fat Joe was one of the biggest names in the rap game. From 2001 until 2008, Fat Joe was good for providing a hit single every summer. Being one of the biggest rappers in the game, Fat Joe was among the first New York rappers to embrace the movement in the South. When Lil Wayne said he was the best rapper alive, Fat Joe was one of the few, outside of the South, to agree.

In 2006, Fat Joe recruited Lil Wayne for his hit single, “Make it Rain,” and also had a little support in his feud with 50 Cent. However, as Lil Wayne grew bigger, he soon called a truce, of sorts, with 50 Cent. Lil Wayne began working with bigger and bigger artists and soon his collaborations with Fat Joe dwindled. However, Lil Wayne has been featured on every album from Fat Joe since 2005.

With Lil Wayne now focused on his Young Money movement, it is rare to see him with Fat Joe, but soon fans will have the chance to in Orlando. The ever-popular Dwight Howard, of the Orlando Magic, is hosting a celebrity basketball game in Orlando, Florida. Since the NBA has yet to come to an agreement on when to start the season, Howard is now hosting a game. Among the players will be former Orlando Magic superstar, Penny Hardaway, current Magic star, Gilbert Arenas, and former Magic players, Vince Carter, Matt Barnes, and Trevor Ariza.
