Last year, Young Thug began associating with Birdman, heightening rumors of him signing to Cash Money Records. Before Young Thug even began hanging out with Birdman, he was compared to Lil Wayne. Coming as no surprise, Young Thug said he was a big Lil Wayne fan.
Lil Wayne ended up beefing with Birdman in the midst of him giving his co-sign to Young Thug. This led to many saying Young Thug was the replacement for Lil Wayne at Cash Money Records. Prior to this, Young Thug already said his debut album would be called Tha Carter VI.
Drama at Cash Money Records has led to delays on Tha Carter V, which is the final Lil Wayne album. Now, it looks like Tha Carter VI is going to be released before Tha Carter V, obviously fueling the fire between Lil Wayne and Young Thug. Recently, Lil Wayne was performing live and he dissed Young Thug, telling fans to not to purchase an album from someone who is naked on the cover.
