Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V album was finally released on 9/28 after years of delays. Wayne made the announcement on Wednesday that the project would be released on his birthday. It was released shortly after his birthday concluded. Kanye West said he would push his Yandhi album back to Saturday night so Wayne could have his shine but the release never happened.

Tha Carter V has been met with positive reviews by fans and now projections are in for its first week sales. 475-525k units are the numbers as of now, according to Hits Daily Double. 165-180k will make up pure album sales.

Wayne’s Tha Carter V will be the third highest opening week sales in hip-hop for 2018. Fellow Young Money rapper Drake led the way with 732k.
