Lil Wayne talks Birdman, Cash Money lawsuit, and “The Free Weezy Album” with Rolling Stone

It was surprising to see the initial tweets Lil Wayne made about Birdman and Cash Money Records, last year. In fact, it is typical for Lil Wayne to delay the release of his Carter albums. But, Lil Wayne was focused on releasing Tha Carter V in 2014.

This album, which he later promised to turn into a two part series, was to end his career. According to his original plan, Lil Wayne would have released Tha Carter V in December and Tha Carter V, Pt. 2 in June. Had this happened, Lil Wayne would have not gone off on Birdman.

In response to his album being delayed, Lil Wayne announced a replacement album, The Free Weezy Album. When he talked to Rolling Stone, Lil Wayne talked about Birdman, revealing they no longer speak, he touched on the Cash Money lawsuit, also. But, he said his primary focus is on the album.
