Lisa Leslie called racist for denying Mac McClung perfect score

Lisa Leslie is a pioneer in women’s professional basketball and she helped put the WNBA on the map. In 2020, Lisa Leslie did an interview with Gayle King, following Kobe Bryant’s passing. This situation turned into controversy, which became more about Snoop Dogg. Until last night, this was the last time Lisa Leslie made headlines. Last night, Lisa Leslie judged the 2023 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. When she didn’t give Mac McClung a perfect score, she got much backlash from people on Twitter.

Lisa Leslie was one of the first WNBA stars, as one of the league’s original players. She became synonymous with the league, playing for the Los Angeles Sparks. Actually, Lisa Leslie and Kobe Bryant arrived in LA at the same time, playing for the Sparks and Lakers, respectively. Until 2014, the Lakers and Sparks were brother and sister franchises. However, Lisa Leslie retired in 2009, after thirteen years in the league. Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant played twenty years with the Lakers.

Lisa Leslie has continued to add to her legacy, after retiring from professional basketball. Last night, she was a judge for the 2023 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. Mac McClung, of the Philadelphia 76ers, put on a show. Already, McClung was considered potentially the best White dunker of all-time. Definitely, he brought some energy to the Dunk Contest not seen in many years. However, Lisa Leslie did not give Mac McClung a perfect 10, like the other judges. This denied his perfect score of 50, so people on Twitter have been calling Lisa Leslie a racist.
