Def Jam is one of hip hop’s most important labels because of all the talent the label has produced over the years. New Jersey also had a part in Def Jam’s run during the 1990s, with Newark’s Redman being a part of the label. Since then, Def Jam has become home to Gunplay, someone who has been compared to Redman.
Given both their styles and looks, Gunplay and Redman have often been compared to each other. The differences have remained both age and locations, with Redman being from Newark and Gunplay being from Miami. But, with both of them being under the Def Jam roster, it makes sense that they should meet.
This probably wasn’t the first time Gunplay and Redman met, but this was the first time it was photographed. Gunplay is working on his Living Legend debut album, which is due on Def Jam later this year. While he continues to work on the album, Gunplay met with Redman and put the photo on his Instagram.
