Lizzo and Live Nation to donate $1 million to Planned Parenthood
On Friday, the United States was shaken up by the news of the Supreme Court overturning Roe V. Wade. Immediately after that news was handed down, many red states began to make abortion illegal. Thankfully though, blue states such as California and New York have made it known that they will be upholding Roe V. Wade rights.
Many celebrities are now using their platform to help women’s abortion rights, including Lizzo. On Friday, Lizzo announced that she and Live Nation will donate $1 million from their upcoming tour, to Planned Parenthood and Abortion Rights.
“I’m pledging $500k from my upcoming tour to Planned Parenthood and Abortion Rights. Live Nation agreed to match— to make it 1 MILLION dollars.”
Fans have since been saluting Lizzo and Live Nation, for this huge gesture. Lizzo has been trending lately as well, as her new “About Damn Time” single went platinum on Thursday. Her first album in over three years is also coming next month, which is “Special.” This project is expected by many, to become her first number one album. Her last project was “Cuz I Luv You,” in April 2019.
