Lizzo was recently nominated for four BET Awards this past weekend as she took home one for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist. She beat out a star-studded category that included Beyoncé, H.E.R., Summer Walker, Kehlani, and Jhené Aiko. Other categories that Lizzo was nominated in were for Album Of The Year, Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, and the BET Her award.

Lizzo broke out as a superstar in 2019 with her “Truth Hurts” single that was initially released back in 2017. It received momentum by appearing on Netflix’s ‘Someone Great.’ Another old record that blew up last year was “Good As Hell” from 2016. Both of these appeared on her third studio album ‘Cuz I Luv You,’ last spring.

Good As Hell continues to be one of the best pop records worldwide as it has now been certified 3x platinum by the RIAA in the United States, according to Chart Data. This is after the song sold 3 million total units. It also has a remix featuring Ariana Grande that appeared on the Cuz I Luv You project. The music video for Good As Hell also has over 90,300,000 views on YouTube as well.

Lizzo’s Cuz I Luv You album as a whole has been certified platinum. Following its release in 2019, it reached the No. 4 spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
