Lola Brooke confirms “Don’t Play With It” remix
A few days ago, videos went viral of Lola Brooke shooting the video to the remix of her 2021 breakout hit single, “Don’t Play With It.” In this remix, Latto and City Girls rapper Yung Miami are also included. Some of Miami’s verse was also heard in the preview of the remix, in the viral social media videos.
Now, Lola has confirmed the official release date for the Don’t Play With It remix. Therefore, it will be available at midnight, on March 24. Miami first tweeted this news out, as Lola replied “Period!!!!!!”
Don’t Play With It was first released in May 2021, but finally went viral in late 2022. This version featured fellow Brooklyn native, Billy B. This record’s success, along with Lola’s “Here I Come” single, which was released last fall, resulted in her signing to Arista Records. This is in partnership with Team 80 Productions, as it was finalized, in January. Earlier this month, Lola also went on to release her first single of 2023, “So Disrespectful.”
