Looking back at the Warriors’ historic 2016 season, their collapse began when they lost at home to the Minnesota Timberwolves in OT, 124-117 [VIDEO]

As good as the Golden State Warriors became, even with their championship, no one knew how good they could be. After winning their 2015 title, they set out to set the NBA record for wins. Some say this cost the Warriors a chance to repeat.

Ultimately, the Golden State Warriors learned a valuable lesson, which is to close out Game 5 when you go up 3-1. Truth is, Steph Curry had to step up, but he didn’t do it. In 2015, Steph was robbed of the Finals MVP, but he gave it to LeBron in 2016.

People tried to pinpoint when the Warriors began falling apart, in 2016, and most say against the Thunder. Then, others say it was during the first round vs. Houston, when Steph tweaked his ankle. But, what’s overlooked is that the Warriors had a long home win streak, just like the Spurs, when they lost it to the Timberwolves in overtime, missing a chance to go 74-8.
