Tonight, VH1 revealed the "Love & Hip Hop" franchise is going on indefinite hiatus. Last night, "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" revealed the May 11, 2020 episode will be the season finale. Nearly a decade ago, VH1 mastered the “housewives” reality TV format, and snatched the reality TV crown back from Bravo and E!. How it was done was the “Love & Hip Hop” franchise. Originally solely based in New York, the show got the wives, girlfriends, and friends of rappers.

At the time, such names as Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and Fabolous were tied to the show, and still relevant. However, as the show branched out to “Atlanta,” “Hollywood,” and “Miami,” more faded stars were featured. But, the franchise launched K. Michelle and Cardi B.

Growing complaints led to the original “Love & Hip Hop” bringing back the likes of Joe Budden and Tahiry, to ring in season ten. Sadly, the Coronavirus outbreak overshadowed all of that. Last night, VH1 viewers learned “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” is going into an early season finale, and now the entire franchise is on hold, indefinitely, until COVID-19 is under control.
