Since the start of the summer, Lupe Fiasco has been back and is back harder than ever. After releasing Lasers, which Lupe Fiasco revealed he was not a fan of, he is getting back to his roots with Food & Liquor II. In less than a month, the full album will be released and Lupe Fiasco is making his media rounds in advance.
With Lupe Fiasco’s contributions, Kanye West’s resurgence, and new artists such as Chief Keef, Chicago is back at the forefront of hip hop. While Chicago is back on top and Chief Keef has received co-signs from Kanye West and Game, Lupe Fiasco will not be rushing to congratulate him. From the same city, the two are polar opposites.
Lupe Fiasco recently visited Baltimore and he spoke with 92Q Jams. During the interview, the conversation shifted to Chief Keef. With Chief Keef representing the “trap” genre of hip hop, Lupe Fiasco said his music scares him. His family lives in the city of Chicago where hundreds of murders take place each week and Lupe Fiasco feels Chief Keef’s music does little to hinder this.
