Along with many of the other big names in hip hop, Lupe Fiasco is currently in Texas for the annual SXSW music festival. Last night, things kicked off with Bun B and Just Blaze performing the Jay-Z hit, “Big Pimpin,'” and now the other emcees are taking up residence in Texas, for the moment. Lupe Fiasco, obviously, is included in this list.

Hip hop has already proven to be a multi-million dollar enterprise. One of the first ventures, outside of the music, for hip hop was clothing. Close to two decades after the first hip hop clothing sponsors, Joey Bada$$ has taken home an executive role with Ecko as a creative brand director.

Lupe Fiasco now has a similar role, except with a new health and wellness app. During his time at SXSW, yesterday, Lupe Fiasco talked to Billboard about the upcoming projects he has in the works. Known for his music, Lupe Fiasco has now expanded into the business side of things, with the launch of Higi.

Read Lupe Fiasco’s statement below:

“When I first checked in I was 160 [pounds] and my score was something like 760. I checked in today, and I was 155, but even though I lost 5 pounds I wasn’t active in my social activity enough and my blood pressure was a little high… It shows you how weight and wellness aren’t the same thing. You can be super fit and super depressed because you’re not interacting with your social network. You could work out and work out, but that doesn’t really translate to how happy you are in life. You could be at home super happy, super comfortable, just logging in to your computer all day, but your body is paying for it.”
