Chicago is home to two of the most-outspoken rappers ever. Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West are both known for saying what they want when they want. Despite neither artist presenting themselves as “gangsta” rappers, they have done tougher things simply acting out than most of hip hop’s thugs.
All eyes were on Washington, DC a month ago, as President Obama was inaugurated for a second term. Of course, the President’s favorite hip hop couple, Jay-Z and Beyonce, were present. Also in town was Lupe Fiasco, who was removed from the stage for making rude comments about the president.
Lupe Fiasco returned to the DMV area, performing in Silver Springs, Maryland. After seeing Kanye West acting out in Europe, Lupe Fiasco may have taken a page out of the playbook. This time around, Lupe Fiasco ranted, but spared President Obama. Instead, Lupe Fiasco shifted his focus to the music business and the radio stations.
