It has been a year since Lupe Fiasco releases Lasers and he has enjoyed a nice commercial run during the summer of 2011. But, since his appearance at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards, Lupe Fiasco has been out of the public eye. However, Lupe Fiasco revealed his next album would be a sequel to his 2006 debut, Food & Liquor.

Aside from his albums, Lupe Fiasco has released several mixtapes. During his four-year hiatus from releasing albums, Lupe Fiasco released mixtapes, which have kept him relevant. However, as he has been working on his last album, Lupe Fiasco’s attention has been taken away from recording mixtapes. During a recent performance, Lupe announced his mixtape run was over.

Previously, Lupe Fiasco retired from rap, only to return and release Lasers. When speaking about his next album, Food & Liquor 2, Lupe Fiasco revealed it may be a double album. In the year-plus since he released his last album, Lupe Fiasco has been recording new music. There is a possibility the bulk of these songs will be used for his next album.
