Last year, Lupe Fiasco enjoyed a strong comeback, following being out of the spotlight for four years. Immediately after the release of his underwhelming album, Lasers, Lupe Fiasco announced he had another project in the works. For some time, the Chicago rapper discussed crafting a sequel to his 2006 debut, Food & Liquor.

In 2011, Lupe Fiasco revealed he had another album planned, Food & Liquor II, which could come before the end of the year or in 2012. Lupe Fiasco stayed out of the spotlight past the summer of 2011. Until the spring of 2012, Lupe Fiasco was not a major topic of discussion.

Lupe Fiasco returned a few weeks ago with his new single, “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free),” which sparked controversy with Pete Rock. With the relationship between Lupe Fiasco and Pete Rock still undetermined, Lupe Fiasco said the album will soon be on the way. Now, Lupe Fiasco has an official release date of September 25.
