Arguably the most-insightful rapper in the game, Lupe Fiasco ended up in a bad way during the promotional run of his Food & Liquor 2 album. The year before, Lupe Fiasco ended his four year hiatus with his Lasers LP. While the album was not exactly what Lupe Fiasco wanted, he gained commercial success and met critical praise.

During his promotional run, Lupe Fiasco answered several questions about the current state of hip hop. When Lupe Fiasco was asked about 2 Chainz, he admitted he was not impressed with his music, angering his fan base. Lupe Fiasco also ended up talking about Chief Keef and his music, wishing he would tone it down, and ended up being taunted on Twitter.

When he was promoting Food & Liquor 2, Lupe Fiasco announced his follow-up, Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1. But, after the Chief Keef situation, Lupe Fiasco said he was done with rap. In 2013, it is clear Lupe Fiasco will release an album, but it will not be under the Food & Liquor title.

Hello. A decision has been made that the project titled “F&L2 Part 2″ will be summarily cancelled for public release in 2013. The title/concept for Lupe’s 2013 release will be revealed later this year. The LF twitter will be closed until that time
