M.I.A. covers Rolling Stone India

One of the most unique artist of the 2000’s is back and ready to dominate the music world. British rapper, record producer and singer M.I.A. graces the cover of the digital version of Rolling Stone India. Appearing on latest issue ahead of her recent performance at NH7, she shares with fans her future plans.

M.I.A. is a name that comes to mind when mentioning top artist of the 2000’s. The talented artist grew a huge following due to her skill of mixing hip-hop and electronic. Her first album Arular released in 2005, receiving positive reviews from fans. She followed up with her second album Kala, releasing it in 2007. That album included the hit single “Paper Planes,” earning M.I.A. her first Billboard top ten hit. The single became extremely popular within the hip-hop world, leading to it being sampled on the Jay-Z’s  “Swagger Like Us.”single. That single also featured T.I., Lil Wayne and Kanye West, earning a Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo.

Although “Paper Planes,” is still a major hit, M.I.A. hasn’t stopped creating unique music. Last year her sixth studio album MATA, hit streaming services. Recently, M.I.A. was a headliner at BACARDI NH7 Weekender in India, her second major performance of 2023.
