Macklemore and Marshawn Lynch are minority owners of NHL’s Kraken

This is the first season that Seattle has had an NHL team, in the Seattle Kracken. They have been having a rough inaugural season, as they currently stand at 24-44, and last in the Pacific division.

Now, Seattle is getting more ownership stakes, involving two icons in the city. According to TMZ, rapper Macklemore and former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, are the new minority owners of the Kraken. This was confirmed by the NHL, on Monday.

Kraken CEO Tod Leiweke revealed that Macklemore and Lynch disguised with him last summer, about Maluku this happen. Leiweke was surprised about this, but he loved what the entertainers had done in the Seattle community. Macklemore also plans to partner with the team in order to help foster children in the city.

Lynch won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks, in the 2013 season. Seattle blew the Denver Broncos out, 43-8. Lynch spent seven total seasons, with the Seahawks.

Macklemore has helped put Seattle on the map as well, as he has four Grammy wins. That included a massive upset at the 2014 Grammys, where his “The Heist” album with Ryan Lewis won the Best Rap Album award over Kendrick Lamar’s “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City.” 2013 was Macklemore‘a breakout year, as he and Ryan Lewis had hits such as “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us.”
