Macklemore and Ryan Lewis go platinum with “The Heist”

Throughout the winter and early spring months of 2013, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have continuously racked up platinum plaques. Their singles hit hard and have become the biggest hits of the year. Performing prominently at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards helped expand the profile of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

Even with all they have done, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have been like all the biggest rappers in the game. All the biggest rappers in the game have had trouble going platinum over the past few years. It took forever for The Heist to gain success in their sales, but the album had a lasting impact.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis introduced themselves to a large fan base during their performance in Brooklyn. This has not been forgotten by the fans and they are paying attention to it. Record sales have continued to climb in and 19,000 copies were moved this week, making The Heist platinum.
