Due to the changes in society, hip hop has changed. In some ways, the game has become the same as it was in past years. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have ushered in a new era of hip hop and they have introduced the world to the hip hop scene in Seattle. But, most importantly, they opened the door to the LGBT community.

While Macklemore and Ryan Lewis identify themselves as straight, they are accepting to the homosexual audience. The duo made major strides with their “Same Love” single, which they performed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” They are not the only figures in hip hop who have defended gay people.

Macklemore recently talked to Al Lindstrom earlier this week and he spoke on homophobia in hip hop. A lot has changed in the game and hip hop is close to accepting the homosexual community. During the interview, Al Lindstrom talked to Macklemore about how the landscape has changed.
