Hip hop’s resident bad boy, Maino, has been giving fans a deeper look inside, to truly know the man he really is for years now. Without the help of any major company, Maino began producing his own reality show, “Up Close & Personal.” The show, which recently premiered the first episode of the third season, has generated interest and may soon wind up on MTV2.

Of course, Maino would love to become one of the faces of one of hip hop’s current biggest media outlets, but he is not holding his breath. Instead, Maino is gearing up for the release of his long-awaited sophomore album, The Day After Tomorrow. With his album coming in less than a week, Maino said he may release two episodes a week.

Speaking with XXL about the show, Maino said “Up Close & Personal” is exactly what the title says, for those who do not know. Maino informed XXL of how the series is providing insight about the day-to-day life for artists like himself. In front of the camera, it looks like its all party, but behind the camera, there is plenty of struggle.
