The Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich made its return on November 3 and just 24 hours in, the madness is here. The latest comes out of Oxon Hill, Maryland where a man was stabbed to death at one of their locations. According to Fox 5 D.C., this was due to a man skipping in line in front of another man who was looking to purchase the sandwich.
The incident occurred at 6200 block of Livingston Road at 7p.m. Prince George’s County Police say that the fight escalated to the point where the two men went outside and the fatal stabbing took place at that moment.
“We have been able to determine, preliminarily, that this is related to the release of the sandwich here at this restaurant… this individual was in line specifically for the sale of the sandwich when another customer and he got into an altercation and that ended with the victim being stabbed outside of the business,” said PGPD Director of Media Relations Jennifer Donelan.
The victim was a 28-year-old man as he was taken to a local hospital and died there from his injuries. An investigation is ongoing as police are hoping that the murderer will turn himself in.
