Yesterday saw the world truly absorb what happened in Orlando for the second straight night. What happened was the worst mass shooting in the history of the US. But, there isn’t an issue with gun control and a presidential candidate used this moment to brag about being “right.”
The Orlando situation is not a political moment, but instead a moment for humanity to step up. Unless safety is on the line, there is no reason for a human to take another human’s life. Sexuality of another should be the least of another person’s concern, not an excuse to kill.
Outside of the rights and the wrongs, there is a big story not being covered by mainstream news. There is a man who took to Facebook to tell the story of a woman who was in the club who was shot well over ten times, including once in the liver. Not only is this courageous woman alive, she recounted two other shooters who got away and there needs to be focus on this.
