Since leaving Cash Money Records, Mannie Fresh has been out of the public eye. There was a brief reunion with Cash Money, when Mannie Fresh DJ’d in New Orleans, while Lil Wayne performed, in 2007. But, given Birdman’s reaction to Mannie Fresh working with Mystikal, the Cash Money movement does not have much for their former in-house producer.

G.O.O.D. Music, on the other hand, has made Mannie Fresh and instrumental part of their compilation album. Kanye West founded the label before he released his debut album and quickly signed Common to the label. Mannie Fresh and Kanye West met when Fresh appeared at a Watch the Throne performance. From there, Kanye West called upon his production services.

MTV News recently caught up with Mannie Fresh to ask him about the progress on the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music album. Mannie Fresh said the album is almost done and it will feature all types of hip hop, including the Southern music Mannie Fresh made popular over a decade ago.
