Most people know Mannie Fresh best for his run with Cash Money Records. With this label, countless hits were crafted. But, most consider Mannie Fresh a popular artist from the late 1990s until his Cash Money departure in 2005. Few realize just how long Mannie Fresh has been working on music.

Starting out as a DJ in the 1980s, Mannie Fresh soon transitioned into a producer. Now considered one of the biggest producers of all-time, Mannie Fresh never lost that DJ edge in his music. Those who know about the original DJs in hip hop are well-aware of this element in the music produced by Mannie Fresh.

Mannie Fresh has been making his media rounds over the past few weeks. A lot of this has to do with Cash Money Records preparing the return of the Big Tymers. Coming back without Fresh, he has done a lot of interviews about it. Hot 97’s DJ Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg changed things up a bit and talked to Mannie Fresh about his career.
